Privacy policy
What data this site collects, what it does with it, and what it does not collect.
What we do not collect
No personal data. No login. No cookies. No email list, no newsletter, no comments. No social-login providers. The reader of this site leaves no identifier behind, because the site has nowhere to store one.
What we do collect — Cloudflare Web Analytics
One piece of anonymised traffic analytics, served by Cloudflare. Cloudflare sees the page you visited, the country you connected from, and that you connected at all. Cloudflare does not see who you are, and the token is published in the page source. No third-party advertising trackers run on the site. The decision to use Cloudflare was made because it is the only one that does not require a cookie banner, and a cookie banner would have been the most honest signal we could give a reader that we are tracking them.
Affiliate links
There are none. No firm on this register pays us, none ever has, and no link on the site earns money today. That is a fact about the register as it stands, not a policy — if it changes, the link in the register will carry the relationship, it will be disclosed on the row that carries it and on the affiliate disclosure page below, and the row will show the date we first read the firm beside the date the money started. A reader who prefers not to be part of any such transaction can always reach a firm by typing its name into a search engine.
Snapshots
Pages we cite are saved to disk under `/snapshots/` so a reader can audit them later. The copies contain whatever the firm published on the date we read them; we do not edit, redact or rewrite. We keep them indefinitely and delete none of them: a citation whose saved copy has expired is a citation you would have to take on trust, which is the one thing this register exists not to ask of you. The schedule of readings is published on the methodology page.
